We acquired this vintage Gump's San Francisco vintage dress from one of our favorite estates of vintage clothing! Gump's began in San Francisco in 1861 as a frame and mirror shop. Once the wealthy millionaires from the California gold rush started shopping there, they started selling everything from antiques, furniture and artwork to jewelry and luxury items from Hermès and Buccellati. They also brought in beautiful pieces of clothing in fabulous prints from places like Japan and Thailand. Many of our most prominent estates have had dresses with the Gump's label.
This pretty dress is from the early 1970's and is in a gorgeous bold print in shades of pink, purple and orange. The dress can be worn belted with its original fabric belt, or as a loose fitting shift. The neckline has a mandarin collar with a v slit in the front and three fabric covered dome buttons down the center front. The sleeve cuffs have two buttons, one decorative and one functional. The dress closes with a center back hidden zipper with a hook and eye.
Made in Thailand of 100% cotton.
We use measurements instead of size numbers so please make sure you review them. If you have a similar style dress, you can lay it flat and measure it and then compare those measurements to the ones we have below. We estimate it to fit a modern day size S/M.
